All mushrooms are edible - once!

We may have had a dreadful summer – but it bodes well for a bumper mushroom harvest - of the edible kind. 

This weekend sees the much-anticipated annual Big Bill’s Mushroom Hunt, on Saturday and Sunday at Avondale House. If you don't know your ceps from your chanterelles, then this is the gig for you. 

Yes, there’s a scrumptious lunch, and yes, there’s lots of wine. 

But let’s be honest: €85 gives you the best excuse you’ll ever get to sneak around the woods with a knife in your hand.
