What are you like? I’m very outgoing, friendly, loyal and passionate, but I trust people too much and wear my heart on my sleeve.
What are you up to? I’ve been extremely busy this year but enjoyed every minute of it. After Taste of Dublin and Taste of Cork, I worked on Style in the City and am now moving on to Top Gear Live. I enjoy the variety. You can’t get bored. I’m working on a few media projects too.
Where do you hang out? I have a few favourite spots in Herbert Park. It’s great for playing tennis. I like the vibe in the Dylan Hotel and the guys make great cocktails. A good night is always guaranteed. And I love the Unicorn. Friday lunch sets you up for a good weekend! If the weather is nice, try to get a table outside. And I would recommend the piano bar, Number Five, for a romantic dinner.
Food I am a good cook but I don’t like cooking just for myself,
so often I stick to quick solutions from M&S. But if I have someone
to cook for, I truly enjoy it! Nothing beats a good homemade Sunday
roast – I could impress any Irish mum with my skills in that
department.
Where do you shop? If I’m in a rush, I know I will always find
something in Oasis. If I have time to shop, I hit Dundrum Town Centre
or wander around Grafton Street. If I could, I would buy every pair of
Christian Louboutins in Brown Thomas.
Dublin ups My friends are here. Butlers hot white chocolate. Flowers in Stephen’s Green. Winter sales. My favourite part of the city is around the Grand Canal in Dublin 4. It has this fresh, new feeling about it, and real soul. It’s close to town and just around the corner from Sandymount. And the lights at night are just fab.
Dublin downs The one-way system around the city drives me crazy. It takes twice as long to get anywhere. And the Spire – every time I look at it I wonder, “What were they thinking?”
Any hobbies? Dancing is my biggest passion. It helps me forget all my problems. I also watch rugby and support Munster. My friends from Limerick got me into it, so I didn’t really have a choice! And their colours are red and white, the same as the Polish flag.
Prized possession? A gold necklace I got from my grandmother on
the day of my matriculation ball (the equivalent of the Debs). She got
it from my grandfather on their 25th wedding anniversary.
Any pets? I grew up with dogs. We had a black poodle called Negro
and a grey poodle called Mandi. One day, when I have my dream house in
Dublin, with a big garden, the first thing I will get is a puppy. I
would love a Golden Retriever.
Do you read the papers? I read books during the week, and
newspapers over brunch on a Saturday and Sunday. I also buy OK and
Hello, but I wouldn’t call that ‘reading’ – more looking at pictures!
From time to time I check the online news from Poland but my parents
keep me up to date.
...and finally, Do you watch TV? I watch the news on TV every
evening. On the radio, I listen to the breakfast show on 98fm, Gerry
Ryan whenever I get a chance – and I fall asleep listening to The Love
Zone on Q102. All classics, all the time.
Izabela will be taking part in Top Gear Live, November 27th-30th in RDS, topgearlive.ie
