Not only is Richard Lubell the man behind our monthly Cocktail Club (cracking recipe for an Old Fashioned in this month's issue), he's also the man in Dubliner Towers who knows the most about our favourite drink after a good cup of tea: beer.
And here's what he made of the recent International Bottled Beer Festival that took place in Deveney's in Dundrum...
On the couch with the duvet and the winter blues? Well, why weren't you drinking beer for charity? Deveney’s of Dundrum hosted their first Independent Bottled Beer Festival in aid of Focus Ireland at in the Bull and Castle, Christchurch, last Tuesday. The sold-out event collected brewers, importers, imbibers and over 100 beers. Featured offerings included American newcomer Hop-a-lot-amus - a pale ale that proves New Jersey is more than just pizza - as well as An Beer Blásta, the latest bottling from Dublin's own Porterhouse. Last orders is long past for this one, but keep an eye on this site for similar future happenings. Because there's more to life than Heino.
It was a great night, though I would point out that the porterhouse beer mentioned is actually called An Brain Blásta.
