The Fun Never Stops

Free cultural events, cheap hangovers

It's been a busy week for us Dubs... an All-Ireland Final, ABSOLUT Fringe, Arthur's Day and tonight it's Culture Night.

Jaysus, it never rains but it pours.

Work Hard. Love Hard. Talk Hard.

What we need in this country needs is more free speech worth listening to

Mick Wallace is never short of something to say, whether via interviews or via banners. But why not hear it straight from the horse's mouth from Mick's TEDx talk last April?

Granted it lasts 20 minutes, but it's worth it for the Willie O'Dea handshake story alone.

The next TED takes place on 23 September 2010 at the Science Gallery in Trinity.

Miranda Sings

Well, sings may be a strong word

What Irish heart wouldn't be moved at the stirring sound of Danny Boy, that sentimental tale of emigration and loss unique to the Irish diaspora (and written by an Englishman)?

Well this version from Miranda Sings might just shake off the nostalgia.

Miranda will be performing at the ABSOLUT Fringe tomorrow night at 9pm and she will be interviewed at VoiceBox at The Grand Social at 10.30pm.

Clamping Down

Yes, I would LOVE a visual metaphor for modern Dublin

Thanks a million! The powers that be should cast this in bronze and put in the middle of O'Connell Street instead.

Guns and Roses (and Bottles)

The wheels fall off Axl

To repeat a joke I once read on a bathroom wall: What do you call a Labour/ Sinn Féin coalition?

Guns 'n Roses.

Of course decommissioning has rendered that joke unfunny now, but somethings never change.

One of those things is the madness of Axl Rose. Witness last night's debacle below:

Pajama Jam

Last Stand to Reason

Jimmy Carr tweeted that they were the best Edinburgh show he'd seen for the past couple of years and other comedians have been raving about them.

See what all the fuss is about below.

The Pajama Men will be appearing at ABSOLUT Fringe this month at The Grand Social.

More from the uncaped crusader...

... marauding the streets and your homes

Tonight With Sarah Carey...

... we'll just be pretending to chat to each other

We all know that television land is an artificial place. That's obvious to anyone. Most of the time when  they're apparently chatting at the end of the news, they're more than likely just mouthing 'rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb'.

But when the illusion is so blatantly shattered it can be quite surprising.

Street Cobra Home Invasion

He's climbing through your windows

But luckily he's not snatching your people up: Dublin's most terrifying vigilante returns to terrorize the street.
